Olive's last day of school was a fishing trip to a trout farm. We had a great time, and Olive even caught a fish!

Today was Olive's last soccer game. She has improved so much since she started in the fall. Today she even scored 2 goals!! She also got to play her last game against her buddy, Olivia. Anyway, we are super glad Chris is done coaching, and Olive is in the process of deciding whether she'll do it again next year. But it was a great game to end on.

Tonight was Olive's end of the year preschool program. The program was their year in review. Olive had a few speaking parts that she memorized (but then waited for Miss Jo's promptings anyway, darn it), and the class sang a bunch of songs. It was totally adorable, and at the end Miss Jo turned on Pomp & Circumstance and gave each of the kids a little certificate and gift. She is really such a fantastic teacher, and I'm glad we'll have her for the next few years. But man, I did get emotional thinking of my little girl leaving the sweet, safe environment of Miss Jo's Preschool and heading on to kindergarten. Yikes! We'll cross that bridge later. Here are some photos and a link to the video of the program -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgTwFj1-BAI.

The girls had their dance recital last night. They did a ballet to "Reflection" from Mulan, a Weber State cheer, and a sassy little dance to "Surfin' USA." Dad, Mom, Laurie, Brandy, Jenny, and Gessie all came for the recital, and that meant the absolute world to Olive and Lucy. We even got to go out for ice cream when it was over!
Miss Brynn gave all her students an award when the recital was over. Olive earned the Most Considerate award, and Miss Brynn said she has such good manners. Lucy earned the Ray of Sunshine award, and Miss Brynn said she's always smiling and positive. They had a great time this year with Miss Brynn. I went to a couple parent observation days, and she is just such a good teacher -- she gets goofy with them, but knows exactly how to reel them in too. I love how modest and restrained her studio is, and how attentive and personal she is with her dancers. It seems like she has a special place in her heart for the Barragan girls, she got them involved in the Weber State junior spirit squad, and always went out of her way to wave to them or give them a hug when she was performing at a game or something. I hope they'll choose to take dance again next year! Pretty little dancers!!
