Olive is loving Primary. The music chorister, Peggy Beard, sent home a note for the parents to help the children practice "I Am a Child of God" this month. We did it as a family, and let Sister Beard know, so today Olive got this chapstick as a prize. She is thrilled about it.

I picked up Olive from school today, and she had done this worksheet.

Then we went on a date to Toys'R'Us where she spent her birthday coupon on this umbrella.

Catching up!

Yesterday I came into my bedroom to find Olive standing by Penelope in her swing, and they were both giggling so hard. I don't know what the joke was, but it was wonderful to hear that.

Here's her party invitation, just got back from having them printed. She's so excited!

Olive got these glasses at school today. She went straight to the closet when we got home, to see them glow in the dark. Happy New Year!!

Today I asked her teacher, Miss Lisa, how Olive is doing in class. Lisa said Olive is a leader and is very smart. She has no concerns about her. I asked if she ever gets bossy with the other children. Miss Lisa said yes with a smile, and said that it just comes with the territory of being a leader. In all she's smart and happy.

Today was Olive's first day of primary. She has been so excited about it, and naturally she loved every minute of it. Here's a photo of her with her buddy Corinne...

I can't believe my little girl is a Sunbeam!

The nursery leaders handed this to me at church today. It had been hanging up in the nursery, but now Olive is officially in Primary.

(Spoiler: she hid the coin in her armpit...)

Me: Do you know why I named you Olive?
Olive: Yeah.
Me: You do? Why?
Olive: Because you didn't name me anybody else...
